10 year old girl kidnapped and then released, Calgary

Police want to warn the public:

On 2011-02-24 at approximately 1830 hours a 10-year old female was shopping in the Deerfoot Mall with her father. While separated from her father she was approached by a lone male offender who said he was a police officer and that she was shoplifting. The female went with the male and then questioned him and stated she did not want to go. The offender then picked up the victim and carried her to his vehicle.

The female victim was later released in Airdrie.

This male was driving a green coloured Dodge Caravan; Police are looking for assistance in identifying this individual and would like to speak to any witnesses who may have seen this incident.

The culprit is described as follows:

A Caucasian male approximately 5’11 tall, 170 pounds, has blue eyes and brown hair.
