A 46-year-old Oshawa male was fatally injured when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a large tree in the Municipality of Clarington.

On Saturday July 30th, 2011 at about 5:30 a.m., an off-duty D.R.P.S. officer came across a vehicle lying in a ditch near Concession Road 8 and Regional Road 57 in the community of Enniskillen. The driver of the vehicle had been ejected and found a short distance away. The driver sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced at the scene.

The Durham Regional Police Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene and collected evidence in relation to the incident. Police believe the collision took place sometime between 11:00 p.m. on July 29th and 5:28 a.m. on July 30, 2011. The investigation into the collision is still ongoing and family members have not consented to the name of the deceased being released.
