Ah Nuit Blanche. The one night where the biggest city in Canada gets turned into a massive art exhibition and it is entirely civilized to run up and hug anyone you see until sunrise. Well folks, Johnnyland and Market 707 have teamed up to add to the night of artistic festivities in a big way this year. Imagine a big outdoor pool, drained and turned into a massive art project, with 20+ bands performing, and international street food & yummy food trucks, from sunset to sunrise… EVENT WALK THROUGH: Starting at the southeast corner of Bathurst and Dundas, the experience begins with the first of two musical stages presented by Johnnyland (Setlist Below). Continuing East along Dundas, attendees will be greeted by Market 707s street food alley, serving the best international street food Toronto has to offer from Market 707 vendors as well as food trucks such as Food Cabbies, Tiny Toms Donuts, Beaver Tails -to name a few- that will remain open all night long. Continuing east, you will witness graffiti artists visually transform Market 707 with live mural painting on their new retail shipping containers. Want to take a piece of Johnnyland Submerged home with you? There will be 2 pop-up shops selling original artwork, artist prints and more. The final stop of the night is the main installation. With an entrance illuminated by a fire spinning performance, you will walk into Scadding Courts outdoor pool area and experience the 50 x 30 meter pool deck encompassed by a display of artwork and the drained pool filled with sculptural works, art installations and Johnnylands main music stage with performances from 7pm until sunrise. Plus, sharing the inside of the pool will be different faith based belief groups interpreting their messages of community building and understanding through art. We’d like to give thanks to our favourite group Indie-Rock Youth Toronto for the love and support for this show! Check out their ever growing local scene led by our great friend Zak Nesbitt PLUS, our good friends Columbo (http://columbotheband.bandcamp.com/) are releasing their new EP for all you lovely people!
