Toronto Mayor Rob Ford directly apologized on Sunday for being drunk in public, while declaring that he still wish to stay in office and intends to run in the next election. Mayor Ford promised that he will “make changes” in his life, though refused to provide any explanation regarding the heated drug-related revelations that threaten his career.

Ford has been facing immense pressure to resign or take a leave of absence, though he has remained steadfast so fast and mentioned in his latest public appearance that he has chosen to “ride the storm out.” Mr. Ford demanded Toronto’s police chief, Bill Blair, to openly release the video for the public and asked them to judge it on their own. For the first time, Mayor Ford admitted that he was “hammered” at the Taste of the Danforth street festival in August, calling it a “pure stupidity,” and confessing that he was “a little out of control” on St. Patrick’s Day in March of last year, when he was “running around city hall with a half-empty bottle of brandy.”

During his radio show on Newstalk 1010, Mayor Ford stated that “there’s no one to blame but myself, and I take full responsibility for it.” He explained that “friends, I am the first one to admit, I am not perfect,” while further elucidating that “I have made mistakes. I have made mistakes, and all I can do right now is apologize for the mistakes. I sincerely, sincerely apologize.”
