Houston police investigate death of 4 year old girl

Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a girl at 5801 Sunforest #3011 about 12:15 p.m. on Friday (June 3).

Betsabeth Sandoval, 4, of the above address, was transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital where she was pronounced dead. An autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences will determine her cause of death.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Hanslik and Senior Police Officer R. Swainson reported:

Betsabeth’s mother told investigators she went to work about 8 a.m., leaving her daughter in the care of her roommate. Around noon, the roommate reported finding Betsabeth lying unresponsive on the floor. The roommate called the mother and attempted to perform CPR in an effort to revive the little girl. Emergency crews were also called to the home and Betsabeth was transported to the hospital where she died.

The mother, her roommate and the roommate’s 14-year-old son were questioned and released.

The investigation is pending the girl’s cause of death.
