Hollywood legend Meryl Streep took the 74th Golden Globes awards ceremony by storm after she was felicitated with the Cecil B. DeMille Award on Sunday evening for her lifelong contribution towards Hollywood cinema. Meryl Streep took an aim at USA President-elect Donald Trump by calling him out for mocking New York Times investigative reporter Serge F. Kovaleski by impersonating his physical disability and bullying him during his Presidential campaign.

While Mery Streep’s bold jibe at Donald Trump was definitely a viral thing on social media, soon Indian fans started calling out Indian celebrities to have a spine to stand against bullies after they all praised Meryl Streep’s speech. Some also talked about how a celebrity is shredded into pieces after they do a take a stand on some matter and are told that they should stick to their business and not have opinions.

Instead of the addressing this issue directly, Anushka Sharma got emotional about Meryl Streep’s moving speech and shared her thoughts about acting and an actor’s life. She spoke how the actors, by the nature of their work, are liberal and non-judgmental. Then, subtly, Anushka moved on to talk about how often an actor’s stand on certain matters is misinterpreted.

Perhaps, Anushka Sharma’s heartfelt message was to get the insight on why celebrities in India don’t speak up during a lot of controversies.
