Montreal’s metro system has been jammed due to multiple smoke bombs Thursday. The incident took place near the peak rush hour while a number of other interruptions have deteriorated the service quality of subways in Montreal during the last week.

It seems like smoke filled the stations at Jean Talon, Lionel Groulx, Prefontaine and Snowdon, eventually halting the entire network. Authorities tried to fix the problem as soon as possible but all their attempts were unsuccessful. Meanwhile, another smoke attack took place which forced the authorities to shutdown. The episode went on till around 10 a.m.

Many people hearing about the incident decided to drive to work instead, and streets throughout Montreal were overflowing with cars. Traffic in the city is becoming more and more dangerous. The protests have now started to leave disastrous impact on the transport network of Montreal. Even ambulances are finding it difficult to rush through the jammed roads.

Local citizens are becoming impatient and demanding Premier Jean Charest to resolve the matter as quickly as possible. They believe whatever the consequences are; Montreal should not lose its peace. A number of people suggest calling the army to take matters in hand.

On the other hand, police claims that this cannot be entirely cause by the students. The police department said earlier that a number of radical groups are taking advantage of students’ anti-tuition battle to rip the city apart. This is the third smoke bomb attack in the metro system in recent weeks.
