Government spokesman Dr Barnaba Marial told the press Friday that South Sudan is working on how to spearhead the process.
His remarks followed the passing of the South Sudan Pension Bill by the cabinet last Friday.
South Sudanese nationals who worked in the Khartoum government were laid off just after South Sudan gained independence last July and now face a risk of losing their send off package.
“This will be handled by the Government of South Sudan following a resolution that the pension of those officials be claimed from the Republic of Sudan. The issue will be one of the matters for discussions with Khartoum in the peace talks currently taking place in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa between the two countries”, said Dr Marial.
