On Thursday August 9, 2012, the London Olympics 2012 Women’s football Gold Medal match will be played between USA and Japan at the Wembley Stadium in London. It will be a long awaited revenge match for the Americans. After losing to Japan in the 2011 World Cup Final by penalty kicks Abby Wambach looks to lead USA to a gold medal victory.
Japan had a good semi-final against France. They were comprehensively wining it by 2-0 for almost the entire second half until France made a 1 quick goal to make the match a bit interesting.
On the other hand, US team is just coming off a 4-3 overtime victory over Canada. Though the Canadians played much better than the United States however, at the very end Alex Morgan found a slight way to win. After tying to slow the game by Canadian the referee called for a free kick inside the box. S playing the free kick during that hand ball was called and a penalty kick was given to the Americans, which Wambach scored to level the game. Now after 120 minutes the Americans get the goal form secrete card Alex Morgan with just 30 seconds ahead of the penalty kicks. However, that dubious win for the US will go under controversy over the hand ball call, it was a breathtaking game. Environment was so tense and lively.

Japan currently ranked as 3 and has formed many strong and talented defenders. The Japan line up likely to play include: Miho Fukumoto, Ayumi Kaihori, Yukari Kinga, Kyoko Yano, Azusa Iwashimizu, Aya Sameshima, Saki Kumagai, Kozue Ando, Yuki Nagasato, Megumi Takase, Mana Iwabuchi
Everyone will be waiting to see another great game from both the classy players. According to statistics, USA looks favorites to win the gold but you cannot write-off Japanese with their great performance in recent matches. A Tough fight will be expected from both the teams.
