Mississauga man Fredy Fonseca Castandeda charged in a sexual assault investigation

Investigators from the Special Victims Unit have made an arrest in the Erindale Park sexual assault case.

On Monday, August 27, 2012 at approximately 9:30 p.m., the female victim and her male companion were sitting in a parked vehicle at Erindale Park, located in the area of Dundas Street West and Mississauga Road. An unknown male approached the vehicle and identified himself as a police officer.  The male was not in uniform nor did he provide any identification.  He ordered the male out of the vehicle and then got into the vehicle and proceeded to sexually assault the female.

The suspect Fredy Fonseca Castandeda, was arrested on August 29, 2012 and was charged with Sexual Assault, and Personating a Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.  The suspect will appear in an Ontario Court of Justice on October 1, 2012 to answer to the charges.

The suspect is a resident of Mississauga, and is described as male, white, 27 years-old, 5’8” tall with a muscular build.  He has short dark hair, with a goatee. 

Investigators are concerned that this party may have victimized others in the past.
