Toronto MarliesThe Toronto Marlies defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs, AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, by a score of 3-2 in a shootout tonight from Copps Coliseum in Hamilton.

Tim Connolly opened the scoring in his first game of the season at 15:52 of the opening frame. The Bulldogs would respond on the next shift when Michael Bournival notched his third goal of the year. After a scoreless second period, Joey Tenute gave Hamilton a 2-1 lead midway through the final frame. Marlies Captain Ryan Hamilton equalized for Toronto with less than two minutes remaining in regulation. With neither team able to score in overtime, Joe Colborne, Spencer Abbott and Matt Frattin were all successful in their shootout attempts to give the Marlies their 23rd win of the season.

The Marlies return to the ice on Thursday night when they travel to Cleveland to take on the Lake Erie Monsters, AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. Toronto returns home this coming Saturday when they host the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins, AHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, at 5 p.m. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling the team’s ticket line at 416-597-PUCK (7825).
