The Toronto Marlies defeated the Grand Rapids Griffins, AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings, by a score of 3-1 tonight at the Van Andel arena in Michigan.

T.J. Brennan tallied his team leading 14th goal of the season to open the scoring at 11:47 of the first period. After a scoreless middle frame, the Marlies took a 2-0 lead on Troy Bodie's fourth goal of the year. Wade MacLeod’s tally helped secure a Toronto victory with just under 10 minutes remaining in the third period. Mitch Callahan scored the lone Griffins goal.

Toronto returns to the ice on Friday, January 3, when they host the Syracuse Crunch, AHL affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning, at 7 p.m.
