While lyricist Kumaar has written superb lyrics for this song titled 'Chhil Gaye Naina' for the movie NH10, not many are aware about the trio of women that has come together to create this song.
Krishika Lulla, Kanika Kapoor and Anushka Sharma are the women in question who came together to make sure that 'Chhil Gaye Naina' was the chosen one for NH10.

"Krishika is the producer on the film along with Anushka, who also plays the central protagonist. Both of them were quite passionate about getting the right song for NH10 that would act as a promotional video. They deliberated a lot since NH10 is a plot driven film and doesn't really have place for quintessential song and dance affair to step into the narrative. The song had to be powerful enough to go well with the theme of NH10, and everything from the lyrics, voice as well as music had to be hard hitting enough to make a quick and strong first impression," informs our source.

After going through quite a few options available for them, they managed to crack the team of lyricist Kumaar and composers Sanjeev-Darshan who brought with them a thumping 'Chhil Gaye Naina'. In the process, everyone also took the risk of bringing Kanika Kapoor on board. Since she has largely sung peppy dance numbers like 'Baby Doll' [Ragini MMS 2], 'Lovely' [Happy New Year] and 'Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan' [Roy] in the past, it was important to be assured of her getting it perfectly right for 'Chhil Gaye Naina', which is a pathos laden number.

"And hasn't she got it perfectly right," exclaims Krishika, who has been hands-on involved in the making of the song and its video, "At times you have to go with your instinct and we coupled it with a calculated decision to get this song in place. Kanika, Anushka and I had to get a heart rendering number in the rock space and 'Chhil Gaye Naina' works perfectly well for NH10."

Elaborating further on her association with Kanika, she adds, "Many people thought that she could give only item numbers, but perhaps they don't remember that she has done 'Jugni' as well. She has delved into different kind of songs. She has been singing since she was a child and traveled with troupes. She has done ghazals as well. I had a gut feel that she would do very well with the song and with her presence 'Chhil Gaye Naina' would be all the more enhanced. If audience reaction is anything to go by, guess I was right."

In fact the music video of the Anushka Sharma song is also attached to Badlapur, just like Varun Dhawan's 'Jee Karda' was attached to the print of Shamitabh. With the film now less than a fortnight away from its Holi arrival (on March 6), one awaits how the presence of 'Chhil Gaye Naina' further accentuates its fortunes in theaters.
