A man has been charged in relation to a bank robbery that occurred in West Springs in early June.

On Monday, June 8, 2015, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a man robbed the Scotiabank located in the 800 block of 85 Street S.W. He brandished a firearm and made a verbal demand for money, obtaining an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the bank. No one was injured during the robbery.

Investigations by the Calgary Police Service Robbery Unit resulted in the identification of a suspect. At approximately 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2015, the suspect was arrested in Edworthy Park.

Hermann Erwin VOGEL, 33, of Calgary, has been charged with two counts of robbery with a firearm, one count of possession of a weapon, one count of being disguised while committing an indictable offence and one count of breach of recognizance.
