Laemmle’s NoHo 7 (North Hollywood, CA)
One of the seminal films of the 1980s, Fast Times at Ridgemont High remains a laugh-out-loud comedy more than 30 years after its release. Director Amy Heckerling’s coming-of-age story focuses on a group of California teens obsessed with malls, sex and rock and roll. Based on a book by writer/director Cameron Crowe, the film features career-launching performances from Nicolas Cage, Forest Whitaker and Sean Penn, who so memorably plays the dazed-and-confused surfer Spicoli. Now see it in all its big-screen glory at Laemmle’s NoHo 7, where it’s screening as part of the Throwback Thursday Film Series. Each event features a gourmet food truck on-site selling delicious edibles related to the film which can be brought inside the theater. And before each screening, you can relax in the auditorium and enjoy a playlist of music specifically curated to match that night’s film.
