Commented Argonauts G.M. & Head Coach, Jim Barker, "I believe a dominant defensive front is imperative to win a championship. This is what Kevin Huntley brings; he’s as dominant an inside player as there is in the league. He gives us a presence inside that you can’t just go out and find. Kevin is a great team player, a hard-working guy who cares about his teammates. While this negotiation took a little longer than we had hoped, it makes it feel even better to get it done, thanks in large part to the hard work of Mike Hagen."
Kevin Huntley is a mountain of a man who was named a 2010 CFL All-Star at defensive tackle, the first Argos DT to earn the honour since Noah Cantor in 2004. For the second straight season the Argos’ prize lineman recorded a team-high nine (9) QB sacks, good for fourth in the CFL and third in the East. He had two multi-sack games in 2010 and finished second among Argos defensive linemen with 41 tackles.
Huntley remarked, "The most important part of this whole process was for me to be an Argo. I love all the guys I play with and the people I work with. All of our coaches are great and work hard to make us succeed. Football is a rough game and I wanted to make sure I took care of my family and this contract allows me to do that. I am so happy everything got done and I can continue to focus on my rehab and being dominant this season. Thanks to the fans of Toronto who support us and give us energy during games. We will continue to get better and I will give all my effort so that they have something to cheer about."
