District 3 RCMP are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision on Route 10 in Roachville, N.B on March 21, 2011 around 6:30 p.m. The collision occurred when the victim’s vehicle crossed the centre line and collided head-on with a pulp truck. Both vehicles caught on fire.
The driver of the pulp truck was able to escape with minor injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was not able to escape and died at the scene. Due to the intense fire, the police have not yet been able to positively identify the victim. The road was closed for five hours.
The investigation is ongoing with a vehicle inspection being conducted and an autopsy being performed.
