London: Former India captain, Sourav Ganguly said that, the loss of pace spearhead Zaheer Khan from the remaining two test matches will be a big setback for India, but the team has enough power to draw the series. Ganguly is expecting from the other bowlers of the team to perform well, that at least they can draw the four test match series by 2-2.

“Off course, Zaheer Khan is one of the star bowlers of the team. He is injured & need to go through surgery & that’s why he won’t be able to be in action for few months. But at the same time, it is a big opportunity for the bowlers to make a bright picture of themselves in the team in Khan’s absence,” Ganguly said.

“Two more test matches are yet to play & I expect an excellent performance from the team to draw the series by 2-2. It will be a huge challenge for the team to save their image, but still it’s not impossible for them,” also added by Ganguly.

On Sunday, Zaheer was unable to recover himself from the injury in hamstring & ankle. He will need at least 14-16 weeks to recover properly. He walked out of the ground after bowling 13.3 over when he felt pain in his ankle on the opening day of the second test match at Lords’ on July 21.

Till now England has taken a 2-0 lead in the four test match series by winning the Tent Bridge & Lords’ test matches. The third & fourth test matches will held in Edgbaston (August 10-14) & Oval (August 18-22) respectively. The limited over series will starts on August 31 with the one off T20 international matches.
