Google Inc has announced that their brand new revolutionary product i.e. The Google Wallet is now in the market. Google Wallet will make credit cards a thing of the past as it provides a digital payment service through which users can make transaction by flashing their handheld smart phones at the counters.
Google Wallet has roped in major credit card companies MasterCard and Visa. Both credit card giants will have wireless transaction facility available on most credit card terminals across the globe. A Google Inc spokesperson also added that they are now trying to include support for, Discover, American Express and Visa accounts in their next upgrade of the path breaking product.
However one thing needs to be kept in mind that the app that release this week not too many people would be able to get their hands on it as it is a download-able “Over the air” update that will only serve Sprint wireless customers, reason being that Sprint is one of the partners of Google for this project, and the customers of Sprint will get first preference.
This product will really give the Smartphone industry a kick start in the coming year as many upcoming phones will come with the NFC chips that make this technology work.
The other obstacle can be the limited NFC enabled transaction terminals available for the customer. Although having said that, Visa and MasterCard have wireless terminals available in abundance worldwide.
