Father and step mother charged for historical murder of Meloine Biddersingh

On September 1, 1994, at approximately 3 a.m., an officer on patrol in Vaughan located a burning suitcase near Hwy 7 and Brad Wick Drive.

Human remains of an unknown female were found inside the suitcase.

Police received a phone call in relation to the investigation.

In February 2012, the identity of the remains were confirmed to be Melonie Biddersingh, 17, at the time of her death.

On Monday, March, 5, 2012, Everton Biddersingh, 56, Melonie’s father ,and Elaine Biddersingh, 50, her step-mother, were arrested in Welland, Ontario and charged with First Degree Murder.
