Aphrodite 2 is an android created by a robotic scientist named Hummer as the erotic companion to his nuclear-physicist friend, whose most recent trio of wives have mysteriously perished. Aphrodite 2, though, isn’t just an accomplished sexual being, she’s also an intellect who’s developed quite a dangerous mind of her own — which poses a potential problem for the two scientists. Playwright Cornelius Schnauber is Professor Emeritus of German at USC, with several recently produced works, including Heydrich/Hitler/Holocaust and Richard and Felix: Twilight in Venice. This world-premiere comic mystery comes courtesy of the MET Theatre.
