Antigonish RCMP have arrested a 25-year old Antigonish County man for Attempted Murder.

Antigonish RCMP responded to a 911 call on St. Mary's Street in Antigonish last night at approximately 6:00 p.m.  The investigation revealed a female was attacked at a residence by a man who was known to her.  The male suspect was arrested without incident.  The victim was taken to hospital where she was treated for her injuries and released.  Police do not believe this was a random act.  The investigation is continuing.

 
John Connor Fraser, 25-years-old, from Antigonish County, will appear in Antigonish Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012.  He faces charges of Attempted Murder, Break & Enter with intent to Commit Indictable Offence, Forcible Confinement, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Mischief.
