La Fonda Wilshire (Los Angeles, CA)
A Los Angeles landmark, La Fonda on Wilshire was the first restaurant in the country to incorporate a colorful live mariachi show with a sit-down dining experience. It was opened in 1968 by Natividad “Nati” Cano as a place for his mariachi band Los Camperos to perform. Some 40 years later, the tradition is still going strong, as the country’s premier mariachi groups and dancers deliver an energetic and joyful Sunday morning performance. As you enjoy the show, you will be treated to a Mimosa or glass of champagne, along with a choice of entree from a selection of traditional Mexican breakfast dishes, as well as coffee, fruit and pan dulce (sweet bread).
