Bob Dylan starts the summer at the UK Hop Farm Music Festival then crosses the Channel to Europe.

When he gets back to North America August 10, 2012, Dylan will be joined by Mark Knopfler, who toured with Dylan in 2011. The first stop will be Lloydminster Alberta in Canada. I am hoping the fall has some dates near Atlantic Canada to tempt me.
Both Dylan and Knopfler are releasing new CDs this fall. Knopfler has the double CD set “Privateering”
Dylan’s yet-to-be titled album will also be released in September.
Knopfler was only performing a couple of Dire Straits songs per show. “Brothers In Arms” and “So Far Away” were in the setlist each night. Dylan mixed the set list each night as he always does.
Mark Knopfler has a long history with Dylan. In 1983 Knopfler produced Bob Dylan’s “Infidels” album, the first non-overtly religious one since Dylan’s conversion to Christianity. Knopfler also played lead guitar on “Slow Train Coming.”
US and Canadian dates starting in August have been announced.
