“Security is my fundamental purpose of tour amidst Christmas as well as making sure that every citizen is safe during Christmas period and throughout their lives within South Sudan,” he said

He said that community policing should be effective and fruitful only when the police are friendly to the citizens in respecting their rights and do not do harm to them.

“Police work will be successful and effective only when the community cooperate with the police and respecting the regulations and be rules-abiding people,” he said.

Tito was speaking in Aweil while addressing thousands of citizens from Northern Bahr el Ghazal State during a security briefing in expectation to address the border issues and the precautions to be adhered to by the ordinary people whose lives are always in threat of aerial and ground attacks.

The visit of the National Inspector General of police is not only opening the launching of the national IDs and Passports but also to  assess the state’s security as the state also borders Sudan as it was featured in the news last month.

While underscoring the sufferings undergone by civilians in Northern Bahr El Ghazal Tito urged the citizens to remain calm amidst of Christmas hoping their security will be provided and their properties protected. He also urged them to stop conflict as the citizens of new nation and rather focus on the main major threat of insecurity of their state.

He urged the citizens to be vigilant and not only focus on outside attacks and aggression but also avoid internal conflicts where one sees his community brother or sister as an enemy.

The national ministry of interior has sent a team to Northern Bahr el Ghazal state this week to launch the issuance of IDs and Passports and also to assess the security conditions following recent confusion that arose over the border agreements that led to constants aerial bombardments blamed on the Sudanese authorities.

The inspector general is expected to meet senior government officials this week within the state capital as well visiting the outskirts of Aweil town to see for him the security situation as mandated for from Juba.
