The next presidential elections are two years away, but one ‘super PAC’ is already gathering money to support a candidate who still hasn’t confirmed if she will be taking part in the 2016 elections. The candidate is none other than the wife of former president Bill Clinton, Hillary Rodham Clinton.
The group that is encouraging Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton, announced this Tuesday that they have further gathered $2.75 million in the last six months. More than 25 thousand people have donated to the group after the first of July which is three times the number of donors that the group had during the first of half of 2013. The average amount of contribution made by the donors was $82. Clinton has been busy writing and giving speeches and plans to announce her political intention of running for the presidency later this year. The organization began collecting support after Clinton stepped down her Secretary of State position in 2013. The position is now held by John Kerry.
The executive director of the organization, Adam Parkhomenko, stated, ‘We have exceeded our goals and are ahead of schedule in raising the funds necessary to build a grass-roots army that can be activated the moment Hillary makes a decision. This movement is unprecedented – not because of our staff but because of our supporters – and we will continue to build capacity across the country to put Hillary in the strongest position possible should she decide to run.’
