After winning the opening test, Pakistan will look to continue their winning momentum in the test format as they face New Zealand in the second test match at Dubai on Monday.
Pakistan continued their domination from last three test games in the UAE as they had defeated the tourists by 248 runs in last match at Abu Dhabi and a victory in this Test will secure another series win for the hosts. The Pakistan top order was excellent with every player that got a bat getting amongst the runs. Ahmed Shehzad has been ruled out of the series due to minor skull fracture in the opening match’s first innings. And his partner Muhammad Hafeez might also miss the 2nd Test due to hamstring injury. The likely Pakistani line-up will include: 1 Shan Masood, 2 Taufeeq Umar, 3 Azhar Ali, 4 Younis Khan, 5 Misbah-ul-Haq (capt), 6 Asad Shafiq, 7 Sarfraz Ahmed (wk), 8 Yasir Shah, 9 Zulfiqar Babar, 10 Rahat Ali, 11 Ehsan Adil.
On the other hands, New Zealand are different in nature as they have the tendency to bounce back in the game and keep the series alive till the third and last test match. New Zealand have been in excellent form in the past 12 months but they have and will continue to face a daunting challenge in the UAE against an in-form Pakistan outfit and they need Trent Boult to get early wickets to put them under pressure. The probable Kiwi squad will include: 1 Tom Latham, 2 Brendon McCullum (capt), 3 Kane Williamson, 4 Ross Taylor, 5 Corey Anderson, 6 James Neesham, 7 BJ Watling (wk), 8 Tim Southee, 9 Mark Craig, 10 Ish Sodhi, 11 Trent Boult.
