A 46-year-old Vancouver man is in custody after a fatal stabbing overnight. This is Vancouver’s 15th homicide of 2011.
Around 11:30 pm on December 30th, Vancouver Police received a 9-1-1 call from a residence in the 5000 block of Main Street. When officers arrived, they found a 19- year-old-man deceased inside. He had been stabbed.
A 46-year-old man in the suite was arrested, and several other occupants were taken to the police station for interviews.
According to investigators from the Vancouver Police Department Homicide Unit, an altercation between the two men had escalated violently, but what sparked the conflict remains unclear. The name of the victim is being withheld at this time.
