The jury hearing Tori Stafford trial is to take a break on Thursday to hear arguments. Michael Thomas Rafferty is been accused of sexually assaulting and murdering an eight-year-old Ontario girl in 2009. He is charged with first degree murder, sexual assault and abduction.

Earlier, convicted witness Terri-Lynne McClintic told the court that Rafferty was upset that the girl she abducted was not as young as he desired her to be. The ferocious statements by McClintic and her detailed account of the events leading to Tori’s murder left the court in awe.

“He made a comment that she wasn’t young enough,” McClintic said. “It should have been a younger person.”

The little girl disappeared on her way home from school in 2009. The 31-year-old Rafferty has pleaded not guilty. He was arrested within a month after Victoria was reported missing.

“The allegations in this case are horrible,” Rafferty’s lawyer, Dirk Derstine, said last week. “It’s very important that everybody keep an open mind and everybody not have a rush to judgment.”

Victoria’s remains were found in July 2009 and an autopsy report discovered the girl had died from multiple blunt force traumas. This incident attracted a lot of national and international media attention. Journalists are allowed to use electronic devices in the court; however, they are advised not to broadcast any information from there.
