Legendarily inspired by the true story of the sudden berserk behavior of seabirds in 1961 Monterey Bay, Hitchcock’s classic modern horror thriller stars Tippi Hedren, Rod Taylor, Suzanne Pleshette and Jessica Tandy. When a wealthy socialite pursues a potential boyfriend to a small Northern California town, things quickly turn sinister as birds of all kinds suddenly begin to attack the townspeople in increasing numbers and with increasing viciousness. Aside from being great scary fun, the film was Hitchcock’s first for Universal Studios, and its technical wizardry earned it an Oscar nomination.
