Elderly pedestrian dies from a vehicle struck in Dartmouth

A man who was struck while crossing Victoria Road in Dartmouth on Sunday has died.

On Sunday at 6:50 p.m., police responded to a car/pedestrian collision on Victoria Road at Albro Lake Road. A 68-year-old man was crossing Victoria Road in a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle turning left off Albro Lake Road on to Victoria Road. He was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries and passed away last night.

The driver of the vehicle was issued a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. The investigation is continuing, however, at this time additional charges are not expected.
