He said that every county will get at least 5 Megawatts like it is now in Juba and Kajo-Keji will begin with 20 Megawatts because there is a cement company in the area and Yei will also start with 20 Megawatts because there is a tea company expected to start operations.
“Hopefully in Juba by the 9th of July 2013 there is electricity in the whole of Juba,” he said.
According to the Governor, each county will have 25 megawatts which will be supplied by companies from Dubai, Televiv, South Africa among others.
The governor said some of the water pumps in the state are very old to supply water to the citizens.
“We found two companies, one form Turkey and one from South Korea they will come to construct a new water purification plant in Korak Mountain then it will be distributed to the population of Juba,” he said.
He said the five megawatts cannot meet the demand in Juba and a company from South America will produce 25 megawatts and it is expected to reach up to 100 megawatts.
“You don’t think that this chair has something, this chair you are supposed to come and deliver services to the citizens. But we have come on a bad time, you have come on the chair and there is no money for you to deliver. May be this is something God has written,” Konga said.
He said that if there is unity of the youth in all the six counties of Central Equatoria State, and then the unity of the people will come.
The Community Leader of Kator Payam, Safi Al Hajj urged the State government to speed up service delivery to the people of his Payam.
“We want our state government to take a step and we shall follow. We call on our ruling party to work with the people of the State,” said Al Haji.
