The fatal shooting of one robbery suspect and wounding of another at 10401 Jensen Drive about 10:15 a.m. on Thursday (July 11) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

One male suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Insitute of Forensic Sciences.

The male shooter, 32, was not injured in this incident.

HPD Homicide Division Officers V. McLean and K. McDonald reported:

A male (shooter) agreed to meet two unknown male suspects in the parking lot of a grocery store at the above address to conduct a business transaction for used auto parts.  When the male exited his vehicle, both suspects approached him and, at gunpoint, demanded his money and property.  The male, who is a concealed handgun license owner, pulled out his weapon and fired at both suspects.  One died at the scene while the other fled the scene on foot.  It is believed the suspect fled to a nearby field and was picked up by an unknown vehicle.  Investigators recovered a weapon in the field.
