All respected senate members are anticipated to vote on special motion set on Monday that aims at limiting the time for debate on a motion to suspend three of their colleagues, though not before one of them makes a last effort to present his case and seek a referral to committee for a public hearing. Senators are anticipated to vote on a motion to be forwarded by the Conservative Senate leadership that will impose closure on debate over the motion to suspend Senators Mike Duffy, Pamela Wallin and Patrick Brazeau.

Since the closure motion is most likely to pass, the debate on the suspension motion will consequently have to sum up in less than six hours, prompting a vote to oust the three senators without pay or access to Senate resources sometime on Tuesday. However, before that may happen, Sen. Brazeau has vowed to speak to a motion put forward by him, asking for a public hearing into the allegations that he filed improper expense claims.

Sen. Brazeau revealed his plans via Twitter on Sunday night, where he mentioned that I “will be speaking tomorrow on my motion to have open, public meetings on #SenCa scandal for due and fair process. Facts to come. #cdnpoli.” Later, Brazeau claimed in another tweet that he’s “on trial by the #CPC-led majority in the Senate for $144.97. Talk about being thrown under the bus.” While teasing about what he has in his upcoming Senate speech, he added that “the rest comes out tomorrow.”
