Horse trainer Raymond Nitti of Alliston arrested for historical sexual assault

Investigators working out of the York Regional Police Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a 47-year-old man in connection with historical sexual offences committed against a young
female victim. These incidents occurred more than nine years ago in the City of Vaughan.

The accused was the victim’s horse trainer at the time of the offence and the incidents occurred at a barn on Huntington Road between 1991 and 1995. The victim was 12 years of age and was a student of the accused.

On Wednesday, August 18, 2010, the accused turned himself into police at #1 District Headquarters in the Town of Newmarket and was arrested without incident.

• Raymond NITTI, 47, of Alliston

CHARGES:
• Sexual Assault
• Sexual Interference
• Sexual Exploitation
• Invitation to Sexual Touching

Mr. NITTI has been released from custody and will appear again before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on Tuesday, September 14, 2010.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims that have not yet come forward. They are urging anyone with information to call police.
