The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section is investigating a complaint of an assault which was sexual in nature that occurred in the area of Broadway Avenue and Craig Street in Ottawa on December 17 2013, at approximately 11:15pm.
That evening, a girl in her late teens, was at the door of a residence when she heard someone running up behind her. The male said nothing and grabbed her. A struggle ensued and the pair fell to the bottom of the stairs, at which time the victim was inappropriately touched.
The male suspect is described as medium build, in his late teens, wearing black “Timberland” type winter boots with a beige sole and a black puffy winter jacket with a hood. The suspect’s face was covered with a dark neck warmer or similar garment and as such there is no race information available.
“Ottawa Police believes that no person deserves to be harassed, stalked or assaulted sexually,” noted Staff Sergeant Angela McDade, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section. “We consider that these criminal incidents are very serious and we investigate them fully.”
