On April 30, 2014 at approximately 3:40 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a residence located in the 1300 block of Elgin Avenue West regarding a male stabbed requiring assistance.
The male was located having injuries consistent with being stabbed. He was transported to hospital in critical condition where he was later pronounced deceased.
The deceased has been identified as: Adrian Acoby, 25 years-old of Winnipeg.
The investigation has revealed that the victim had become involved in a domestic related dispute. The confrontation escalated at which time a 20 year-old female produced a knife and allegedly stabbed the victim.
Members of the Homicide Unit continued to investigate.
At approximately 5:25 p.m., Galena Flett, 20 years-old of Winnipeg was located in a business on Main Street and arrested.
She has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder and detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
