As a result of the photo, an extensive search was conducted on October 9 in the Scoudouc area, west of Highway 132, in an area between Dionne Road and Renée-Melanson Road. RCMP members, RCMP Air Services, the Tri-County Ground Search and Rescue Group, the NB Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement Unit as well as local citizens assisted in the search through a large wooded and swampy area. All trails and camps in the area were checked. No clues were found as to the whereabouts of Mr. Blakney.
Mr. Blakney is of average build, 5 feet 1 inch tall, weighing approximately 150lbs, and has reddish brown or auburn coloured hair. He also walks with a limp. Blakney uses prescription glasses and often wears a ball cap.
Codiac Regional RCMP is releasing the picture taken by the hunters camera in the hopes that it may assist and help locate Mr. Blakney.
