Enjoy an entire night dedicated to R&B, soul, funk and rap music from the ’80s and ’90s at the Classic Soul2Soul Concert Series. You’ll see disco and funk band Club Nouveau perform their hits “Jealousy” and their cover of Bill Withers’ “Lean on Me,” which was nominated for a Grammy. R&B singer Christopher Williams (“Promises, Promises,” “I’m Dreamin'”) and British R&B band Loose Ends (“Don’t Be A Fool”) will also rock out on stage. In addition, Jalil and Ecstasy, formerly of R&B/rap group Whodini, will sing their hit “Magic’s Wand” (the first rap song to have an accompanying music video). And to add some laughs, comedian Gary Johnson, aka G-Thang, will be doing his stand-up. Finally, rounding things out is funk and soul-inspired DJ Quik. With your VIP ticket you’ll score preferred parking plus a meet and greet with some of the performers and entry into the after party, a birthday party for Jalil of Whodini.
