Scarborough Arts’ flagship program, EAST Animating Democracy, will explore the many ways that youth in Toronto have utilized the arts in order to mobilize their communities and ignite social change in its first Youth Forum. A panel of esteemed artist-activists and community leaders will respond to questions from Scarborough’s youth and emerging artists.
Panelists include: Randell Adjei, founder of R.I.S.E. Poetry and 2015 Torontonian of the Year; Amanda Parris, artist, writer, and host of CBC Arts’ new show, Exhibitionists; Gilad Cohen, founder of JAYU Human Rights Film Festival; and more. The event is free and is open to the public.
