Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi throws a lime light of astonishing entrance for 500-odd underprivileged children. As department of social work has organized an “Inter-Agency Sports and Cultural Meet” to showcase the talents of marginalized children from communities where students of Jamia were sited for contemporaneous field work.  

The sunlight hours were started with sporting events at the Jamia school ground and were terminated at the Ansari auditorium where the children have performed skits and other folk arts. The birth anniversary of former President of India, Dr. Zakir Husain has been chosen for corresponding the event.

 
Lalhmingmawii Gangte, an event convener and faculty member with the department said, “The event is specially organized for marginalized children under the care of NGOs. Our students visit these agencies for different projects. We are welcoming these children to visit our university and to get exposed to the world of edification and work together with our students and teachers. The whole initiative is to inspire them so that despite all hurdles they study hard and also indoctrinate superior ethics."
