Apple relaxes rules for app makers
Apps makers for the iPhone and iPad from Apple can now point out their customers in other places where the app is available, outside the official app store of the tech giant. With these and other relaxations, Apple hopes to prevent a new fine from the European Commission.
Apple always demanded that makers can only sell their apps in the App Store of Apple. The American company was fined for this in April of 500 million euros For the violation of an EU law, the so-called Digital Markets Act.
Instructions
Now the rules change, says Apple. App developers also no longer have to follow Apple’s instructions about the text used in the promotions.
In addition, the percentages that developers have to pay to Apple will be reduced in the App Store.
Earlier, those payments were able to go up to 30 percent. This will soon be about 13 percent for smaller entrepreneurs.
