Inside Out LGBT Film Festival’s Four-Play Screening Series returns to the TIFF Bell Lightbox with festival circuit darling, SARAH PREFERS TO RUN (SARAH PRFRE LA COURSE). Sarah is a gifted middle-distance runner who lives for the sport. When she is accepted into Quebecs best university athletics program at McGill University, her mother refuses to support her, forcing Sarah to figure out a way to pursue her dream. Sarahs friend, Antoine, proposes the pair enter a marriage of convenience in order to access spousal financial grants. Soon however, Sarahs single-minded focus begins to unravel as she navigates her relationship with Antoine and develops an intense attraction to fellow runner, Zoey. Screened at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival, director Chlo Robichaud, in her feature debut, has crafted a compelling character study of one young womans drive to excel while trying to find her place in the world.
