Fans who arrive early should head to Gate 11 for the Community Crew BBQ. Marc Angelo will grill up sausages with all of the proceeds benefitting the Scarborough Thunder Minor Football Association. Just to get Rivalry Night started, the Ontario Boxing Association will be setting up a ring with sanctioned boxing matches at Gate 11 before the game. The pre-game Timbits scrimmage and player introductions will feature participants from the Ontario Minor Football League, which is also the beneficiary of the 50/50 draw. International performer Louise Kent will perform the anthem on behalf of Free the Children which will celebrate We Day at the Argos’ October 2 game. The alumni welcome will feature 1950s Argos star running back and Grey Cup champion Ulysses “Crazy Legs” Curtis.
The August 20 game wraps up Football Week in Toronto, a collaboration between the Toronto Argonauts, the Bills Toronto Series and Football Canada from Saturday, August 14 – Friday, August 20. Football Week in Toronto is a series of events aimed to raise awareness for and promote participation in minor football in the Greater Toronto Area.
Supporters are invited to head over to the Official Post-Game Party at Jack Astor’s, 144 Front Street West, to say hi to some of your favourite Argos players and the 2010 Argos Cheerleaders, presented by the Toronto Sun. The party will also feature a Budweiser special.
