Cory Fullarton and Cody McKenzie charged with assault in Oshawa

Two Oshawa men were arrested quickly by responding officers following their assault of two residents at an Oshawa house yesterday afternoon.

On Sunday August 29, 2010 at approximately 1:40 p.m. officers from Central East Division responded to an armed incident at a residence on Oshawa Boulevard South in Oshawa involving two male suspects armed with a baseball bat and axe. Both suspects confronted the male and female victims in their residence, demanding money. The female victim was struck with the axe and sustained non-life-threatening injuries to her leg. The male victim was struck with the baseball bat and also received non-life-threatening injuries to his arm. Both victims were transported to a local hospital where they received medical treatment and were later released. The suspects damaged the victim’s property before fleeing the scene.

Responding officers located both suspects who were arrested without incident. The suspect vehicle was located in a parking lot of the Oshawa Shopping Centre and a search warrant was executed on the vehicle, resulting in the seizure of both weapons. Investigators do not believe this was a random act.

Cory FULLARTON, age 20 of Montrave Avenue in Oshawa and Cody MCKENZIE, age 23 of Colborne Street East in Oshawa are charged with: Assault With a Weapon; Assault Bodily Harm; Utter Threats; Mischief Under $5,000 and Weapons Dangerous. Both accused were held for a bail hearing.
