This Tuesday, the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri’s house was attacked by the police force of Lahore accompanied by the very loyal PML-N supporter Gullu Butt. They attacked the PAT supporters outside the Model Town residence of Dr Tahirul Qadri and his family, also aiming gunshots at the windows and doors of their house. The police fired shots at the supporters and beat most of them till they could not stand back on their feet.

More than eighty people were injured and eight were declared dead on the spot. Two women were part of the deceased. The death toll has now increased to eleven as the injured supporters of PAT wait for assistance by the General and Jinnah Hospital doctors. According to PAT, more than 200 of their supporters are still missing and their families have no clue about their location. Dr Tahirul Qadri held a conference after the barbaric acts of the police and said chaos was created within the nation to distract the attention from Pak Army’s Zarb-e-Azb operation in North Waziristan.

“I wanted to inform them that this movement can never be stopped. There will be Qisas of blood according to Sharia,” Tahir ul Qadri said.He questioned that if police were there to remove barriers from outside his residence in Model Town, then why did they open fire at the gate of his house. “They destroyed the generator at my house and shut down all electricity. How does this link with the barriers?” he asked.He further stated that “My workers have raised my head, they have won this event. They will never be defeated and my workers will stay steadfast .”
