USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…It is settled, sealed and dusted now for filmmaker Kunal Kohli and writer Jyoti Kapoor. When Kunal's acting debut for Phir Se seemed under threat, courtesy Jyoti alleging plagiarism charges against him for similarities with another story written by her, it seemed that the film had met a deadlock. Even though the promo of the film had been unveiled quite some back, everything came to a standstill when the matter reached court.

Well, not anymore as Kunal is free to release the film now. In return, Jyoti would be paid an amount of Rs. 25 lakhs as settlement. This is as per the decision that has been taken at the Supreme Court.

"I am happy as now we all can move on," says Kunal who took the Court's suggestion of 'mutual settlement' in his stride and agreed to the logistics, "The Court did make it clear that the film's release could not be stalled any further though the complainant could file a case and fight it out, if need be. None of us wanted to extend this any further. We are all members of the fraternity. I respect the suggestion and hence the subsequent call was taken."

Jyoti didn't mind that either and the amount of Rs. 25 lakhs was acceptable for her to bring this matter to a close. Though few around Kunal did suggest that this was a case worth fighting it out further, he felt it was best to just move on from this point on.

"We are in the business of making films and not doing business with films. We are filmmakers; we are not here to fight cases. Ab picture dikhaani hai logon ko," said Kunal on a call from Delhi, where he had flown down for his date with the Supreme Court.

Back in Mumbai now, he is making plans for the release of the film.

"Usse pehle I am dying to reveal the songs to audience," says Kunal, whose music from Hum Tum and Fanaa is popular till date, "That has always been strength of my films and I am sure it would work Phir Se. Pun truly intended."
