The Toronto Comic Arts Festival, in association with The Lakes International Comic Arts Festival and Nuvango Gallery is proud to present Sean Phillips PHONOGRAPHIC, a gallery showing of vinyl album art created by comic book professionals. 100 albums, 100 creators, including many past and current participants of TCAF.
Arriving in Toronto after its Fall 2015 exhibition in Kendal, England, the PHONOGRAPHIC show is curated by Sean Phillips, TCAF 2014 & 2016 Feature Guest, and acclaimed artist and co-creator of numerous comics series including Criminal, Incognito, Fatale, and The Fade Out. Originally a show containing nearly 70 pieces of work, TCAFs curation team of Christopher Butcher, Jarrett Evan Samson, Krystle Tabujara, and Paul Tjepkema have filled out the show with an additional 30 pieces by Canadian, American, and International artists, many of whom have participated in TCAF, making this an expanded version of the show.
The show will exhibit in the lounge/annex space of Nuvango Gallery, the Flagship Shop for art & lifestyle brand manufacturer Nuvango, located at 639 Queen St. W., from THursday May 12th through Wednesday May 25th.
A special openinng night party will take place on Saturday, May 14th, from 7pm-10pm, which will feature Phillips and many of the other participating artists from the show in attendance. This event is open to the public.
