On Wednesday March 9, 2011 investigators from the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team arrested a 41-year-old Abbotsford man in connection to the July 21, 2010 murder of 34-year-old Amarjit Kaur KHOSA.

Initially there was a report of an incident at a residence in the 32000 block of Austin Avenue where a deceased woman was located by Abbotsford Police Department. IHIT was brought in to investigate the occurrence with assistance from the Abbotsford Police Department due to the suspicious nature of the death.

It was during the autopsy that the forensic pathologist and police determined that the death was confirmed as a homicide.

Over the last several months the investigation continued to move forward to the point where a charge was approved by Crown Counsel and the arrest took place.

Forty-one-year-old Harmohinder Singh KHOSA will appear today in Abbotsford Provincial court to face one count of second-degree murder. Harmohinder is the brother to Amarjit.

According to Corporal Dale Carr, spokesperson for IHIT, “Harmohinder KHOSA was on our radar early on in this investigation. Over the past few months we had been continuing to gather the evidence to support charge approval.”

There are no links to drugs, gangs or organized crime in this incident. This incident is considered a domestic homicide, by the very nature that Amarjit and Harmohinder were brother and sister.
