USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Sometime back producer Sheetal Talwar had spoken about how Indian films are a joke at the annual Cannes Film Festival. Talwar was upset to see the Indian government's money being apparently wasted by the so-called Indian Pavilion at the festival. He had lashed out at the National Film Development Corporation saying, "It's nothing but mutual masturb****n… frigging farce and waste of the Indian government's precious money."
His controversial statements created uproar in the industry. Filmaker Anurag Kashyap, who attended the Cannes this year, as three of his films were showcased there, feels Talwar has no clue about how a film festival functions and is no one to pass comments on it. He adds that the Toronto International Film Festival doesn't want to see any commercial film from India because of Sheetal Talwar since he was supposed to screen Shahid Kapoor starrer Mausam there, but back out last minute, leaving the organizers livid.
Anurag also stated that the reason for Sheetal lashing out is pure jealously as his name was not on the guest list of the party thrown by the Indian Pavilion.
